VDM stands for Jozefien Vandermarliere, a footwear designer with a lot of expertise and even more to offer.
Bio
Jozefien studied interior design in Mechelen, then footwear design in Sint-Niklaas. To perfect her skills she went to the country shaped like a boot: Italy. At Ars Sutoria in Milano she followed an intensive course of ‘Footwear Pattern Making and Prototyping’. Coming back to Belgium, she started successful collaborations with Ambiorix and Tim Van Steenbergen among others.
Expertise
VDM has a clear understanding of the footwear industry, current fabrication processes and the latest fashion trends. Jozefien knows a shoe from pattern to construction, material to color and tones. Other strengths? Organization, effective communication and the ability to relate to people at all levels in the industry. Plus knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, sketching, ...
